Eastgate Fabric Makers Marketplace Stallholder T&C's
Welcome to the Eastgate Fabrics Makers Marketplace! We are thrilled to host your virtual stall on our platform. To ensure a smooth, fair, and thriving marketplace community, all Stallholders must agree to the following terms and conditions upon opening a stall.
1. Personal Stall Seller Requirements
-
Craft, Destash & Handmade: Your virtual stall is dedicated to the creative community. Items listed can be handmade creations, hand-finished items, or your personal destash of craft supplies, including high-quality fabrics, wool, yarns, patterns, and haberdashery.
-
Strictly Creative Items Only: This is a dedicated crafters' marketplace and is NOT an open selling platform for general household goods, electronics, general fashion, or unrelated bric-a-brac.
-
Prohibited & Restricted Items: For legal and safety reasons, you CANNOT list any bladed items, scissors, rotary cutters, pins/needles in bulk, or any sharp tools on your stall. Any listings found containing restricted sharp objects or non-craft related household items will be removed immediately.
-
Product Management: Stallholders are entirely responsible for maintaining their own stock levels, accurate descriptions, and high-quality product images via their Webkul stall portal.
2. Stall Commission & Platform Fees
-
Stall Commission: Eastgate Fabrics retains a 10% commission on the final sale price of each item sold through your stall.
-
Buyer Platform Support Fee: To accommodate platform maintenance, payment processing, and hosting fees, a flat £1.00 Platform Support Fee is automatically added as an uplift to the postage cost paid by the buyer at checkout. This fee goes directly to Eastgate Fabrics and does not deduct from your item's listed stall price.
3. Order Fulfillment & Shipping
-
Shipping Windows: When a customer purchases from your stall, you will receive an automatic notification. You agree to package and dispatch the order within 5 business days of receiving the order.
-
Tracking & Portal Updates: You must enter the shipping carrier and tracking number (or valid proof of postage) directly into your Webkul stall portal as soon as the item is sent.
4. Returns, Refunds, & Consumer Law Expectations Because our marketplace hosts a mix of casual hobbyists and professional traders, return rules depend on your specific stall classification under UK law:
-
Hobbyist & Individual Stalls: If you run a hobbyist stall selling occasional crafts or clearing a personal stash, UK statutory change-of-mind return laws do not automatically apply to you. You are not legally required to accept a return if a buyer simply changes their mind. Accepting these returns is entirely at your own discretion.
-
Registered Business Stalls: If you trade regularly or manufacture items for profit through your stall, you must comply with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. You are legally required to offer a standard 14-day return window allowing customers to return an item for any reason (excluding custom-made or personalized goods). You must clearly state your business status and policy in your stall profile.
-
Faulty or Damaged Goods (Applies to ALL Stalls): Regardless of your stall type, if a customer receives an item that is broken, structurally faulty, or significantly different from your listing photos, you are legally obligated to resolve the issue with a replacement or a full refund.
5. Payout Schedules & Earnings To ensure a secure environment for processing transactions and handling potential returns, earnings (minus our 10% stall commission) are released based on your stall type:
-
Hobbyist Stall Payouts: Funds for hobbyist stalls are processed on a scheduled basis for all orders that have been successfully marked as dispatched with proof of postage in the portal.
-
Business Stall Payouts: Due to the statutory 14-day return window required for business transactions, funds for business stalls are cleared for payout 14 days after the order is marked as delivered, compiled, and paid on the next scheduled payout cycle.
-
Payment Method: All payouts will be transferred directly to the bank account or PayPal details provided in your Webkul stall profile.
