Shopping our Makers Marketplace – Customer Information

Welcome to the Eastgate Fabrics Makers Marketplace! Alongside our main store stock, we are proud to host unique virtual stalls from independent local crafters, makers, and hobbyists.

When you purchase an item from a marketplace stall, please keep the following information in mind:

1. Unique Items Shipped Directly to You Marketplace items are stored, packaged, and posted directly by the individual stallholder, not from our main Eastgate Street shop. If you order from multiple stalls (or combine a stall item with our main fabric stock), your items will arrive in separate packages.

2. Delivery & Platform Fees To support our independent makers and maintain a secure multi-vendor platform, a flat £1.00 Platform Support Fee is automatically added as an uplift to the delivery cost of all marketplace items. This fee helps us cover secure payment processing and platform hosting, keeping stall commissions low for our creative community.

3. Shipping Timeframes Our stallholders are independent makers, and many manage their stalls around hobbies or daily work. All sellers agree to dispatch your orders within 5 business days. You will receive an automated notification with tracking details or proof of postage as soon as your package is on its way.

4. Returns & Cancellations Because our marketplace features casual hobbyists alongside small businesses, return policies vary by stall:

  • Hobbyist Stalls: Items are often unique, one-off creations or personal destash supplies. These sellers are not legally required to accept returns if you change your mind, though some may choose to do so at their own discretion.

  • Business Stalls: Registered commercial businesses on our platform offer a standard 14-day change-of-mind return policy.

  • Damaged or Faulty Items: In accordance with UK consumer rights, if any item arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, you are fully covered for a replacement or a refund from the seller.
